How Trust Seal Works

The Trust Seal is a great way to prove to visitors on your website that you have active website security protecting their interests. The Trust Seal is a snippet of code that can be added to your existing website code that displays a badge on your website. This builds trust between your visitors and website that can lead to increased interactions.

The Trust Seal code communicates with your SiteLock dashboard and the various scans providing a security profile for your website. If any of the security reports in the SiteLock dashboard fail multiple times consecutively, the Trust Seal will be hidden on the site until the scan issues are corrected.

If the Trust Seal disappears from the website, please review your SiteLock dashboard and resolve any pending failures. If you would like help with this process, please don't hesitate to contact SiteLock Support. Please understand that the code snippet is still present on your website, there is just a command issued from the SiteLock dashboard to "hide" the Trust Seal on the website until the dashboard reflects a clean and secure website.

How to Install the Trust Seal

  1. Navigate to your SiteLock dashboard and customize the Trust Seal as desired by selecting Customize.

  2. Enter the desired language, color, size, and style and select Save Configuration Settings.

  3. Copy the Install Code snippet located at the bottom and paste the code snippet in the desired location on your website.

Note: The most common locations to paste this code are your website's index, header, or footer files. If your website is built in a CMS (Content Management System) like WordPress, Joomla, Drupal, etc., there also may be header or footer custom code widgets where the code can be added easily.

Need Help?

  • If you would like SiteLock to install the Trust Seal for you, SiteLock can install the Trust Seal at the top or bottom of your website. If you have a specific location that would like the Trust Seal added, you will need to work with your website admin or developer so that any specific modifications can factor in any custom viewport breakpoints and other variables that occur.
  • If you would like to change any of the variables on the Trust Seal, you can click the shield icon on the top bar of your SiteLock dashboard to change settings and save. You will not need to re-add the Trust Seal code snippet after saving new changes. Changes can take up to 24 hours to be reflected on the live website. If your Trust Seal disappears, it may be due to failing consecutive scans in the SiteLock dashboard. Correcting these failures will allow the Trust Seal to return like normal within 24 hours.
